Our Trip to Harisburg
While in the Baltimore area we decided to take a trip to Harrisburg and see the capitol of PA. Unfortunately we weren’t able to do a tour but did walk around and took a bunch of pictures. According to the AAA tour book it says that the capitol building covers over 2 acres and contains more than 600 rooms. The 272 foot dome, bronze doors, statuary, murals, painting, and stained glass windows are notable features. The marble staircase is designed after the one in the Paris Grand Opera House. We weren’t in Harrisburg very long, but I enjoyed the time while we were there. The whole area is so historic yet so vibrant and alive. It’s such an exciting feeling in the mid Atlantic area.I look forward to the next time we can go back out there.
In the meantime, here is a link to the Harrisburg Capitol website.

Here are some Harrisburg State Capitol Pictures . You will have to sign up for a Walgreens account, but it is free!

Besides the capitol, there are quite a few interesting things to see and do. Here are a few of them:

National Civil War Museum Fort Hunter Mansion and Park State Museum of PA
Whitaker Center for Science and the Arts Art Association of Harrisburg Appalachian Brewing Company
